Binge eating – you’re so sick of it that you’ll do anything to stop this behavior. The fact that you’ve noticed that both you and your body want to end binge eating means you’re ready! Part of the reason why it’s so hard to shift our behaviors – binge eating, is because we don’t like it and are so judgmental of it. And a lot of times even while we’re binge eating we’re beating ourselves up about it. The binge eating actually is there because it wants our attention. And it has to finally get distracting enough, annoying enough and bad enough for us to finally look at it and say okay I’m sick if this, it has to end. Today I’m going to share 3 ways to help you stop binge eating. Before we get into the subject I’d like to share a few other things first. Anytime you binge eat, something is out of balance. Not necessarily food/nutrition wise. In fact most of the time it’s non-food related. There’s probably other things in your life that need to be dealt with, but you decide not to deal with them, and before you know it you take it out on food and end up binge eating.
Best way to lose belly fat? – a question we’ve all wondered about at some point or another. I bet you’ve tried everything to get rid of belly fat. If you’re like I used to be, then you’ve probably done a ton of core exercises like crunches and sit ups till you’re blue in the face. Let me tell you that that’s the slowest and least effective ways to lose belly fat!
The best way to lose belly fat is
To actually not focus on just losing belly fat. I say this because you cannot spot reduce fat. You can’t just work your thighs or arms or lower belly and think that you can control that’s where the results go. Having a smart and right workout plan will definitely help you lower your overall fat and therefor reduce belly fat. The best way to lose belly fat is a combination of strength and HIIT training. With strength training you build muscle, which burns fat and calories at a high rate, resulting in an increased metabolism. With HIIT you’re burning a ton of calories up to 24+ hours after the workout is done.
I know that a lot of people focus on JUST HIIT and cardio workouts along with core focused exercises, but strength training is crucial for burning fat!
KEEP IN MIND that over exercising can actually prevent you from losing fat. To explain this briefly, when you put too much stress on the body (you’re almost always in a constant fight/flight mode) your body will keep on the fat it has and make sure it doesn’t burn it in order to survive. This is why a lot of people who workout a lot wonder why they can’t lose fat. They think that the more they workout the more fat they’ll burn. But not necessarily. Your body will slow down your metabolism in order to keep you alive!
Another best way to lose belly fat is
To eat for good health. Not dieting, not restricting calories or any macro nutrients, but just eating a real, whole food diet with minimum amount of junk food. Notice I said minimum amount of junk and not avoid it completely. I’m all about making healthy living enjoyable and NOT restrictive like it used to be for me. Make sure your diet is filled with high fiber foods and lots of probiotic rich foods such as fermented veggies, yogurt, sprouted grains and so on. When you have a healthy well functioning gut and a healthy digestive system, it’s really hard to NOT lose belly fat.
Making sure you’re drinking enough water and keeping your sodium intake at a healthy level is also important to lose belly fat.
The best way to lose belly fat (beyond diet and exercise) is sleep!
I know I’ve talked about the importance of sleep many times before. But it really is so crucial for not only your midsection, but for your overall health. When you’re sleep deprived your digestion, hunger cues, cravings, stress levels and so on will be be off. All these things affect your midsection. Download my free sleep sheet to get the best night sleep every day.
And lastly the best way to lose belly fat is
To be REALISTIC. Having six pack abs or a toned-looking stomach does not necessarily mean you’re fit and healthy. Not all of us are meant to have low enough body fat to have an incredibly toned stomach – and some people may actually notice that their health begins to suffer if they get their body fat down that low. You might lose your period, suffer with insomnia, fatigue and so many other health issues if your body fat is too low! Don’t put appearance related goals above your health!
I’m sharing another what I eat in a day video!
I actually love making these videos. I’ve always had a passion for food, both cooking and eating it! Nothing makes me happier than spending time in the kitchen, cooking with some good music on while cooking. And nothing makes me happier than enjoying that food for loved ones! I can’t tell you how much better I feel eating both at home but also especially when going out to eat.
What I eat in a day is different every day
Except for two things. My breakfast and my hummus are a must every single day. I’m working on changing my typical oatmeal but I love it so much! I don’t think I can ever go a day without hummus, so there’s noway I’ll even try that. What I like to do to make it seem like I’m having different breakfast and different type of hummus is changing it up. Today I had steel cut oats instead of regular oats. I added a banana and some coconut sugar instead of zucchini. This way I don’t feel it’s the exact same food every morning. I also like to change the flavors of my hummus. I love plain, beet, eggplant, red pepper, you name it kind of hummus.
Here’s a breakdown of what I ate today
Steel cut oats, banana, coconut sugar and peanut butter with a cup of coffee topped with steamed soy milk. So Good!
Quinoa with parsley, mushrooms, lemon juice topped with an egg and beet hummus. If you want the recipe for this beet hummus you can get it here. Just add a well roasted beet into your blender!
More coffee with steamed soy, salted almond butter cups and dark chocolate covered coconut bites. Tastes like Bounty but a healthier version.
Hibachi; fried rice with swordfish and veggies with some wine and later a bit of velvet cake and extra wine!
I have no idea how many calories all this food was, nor do I want to know, because in the end it’s unnecessary. All I care about is that I enjoyed the food and that’s what a balanced, non restrictive, post disordered eating diet looks like to me!
If you enjoy these types of videos let me know in the comments and I’ll be sure to keep them coming! Please share it with anyone who’ll benefit from my videos, so they can get inspired to live a more balanced, restrictive free life as well.
How to speed up metabolism is something a lot
of dieters want to find out
Before I talk about how to fix a slow metabolism and how to speed up metabolism, let me first explain why it has slowed down in the first place. Under eating and over exercising is definitely going to slow down your metabolism over time. As you’re dieting your body starts to think that it’s in danger and tries to hold onto every single calorie you eat.
Our bodies are smart and they don’t like to be in starvation mode! Adding over exercising will only cause more stress on the body and slow down your metabolism even more. When you’re dieting and exercising like mad every day, a lot of hormonal changes happen in your body, including a decrease of thyroid and leptin levels in order to create homeostasis (or balance) in the body.
Here’s how to speed up metabolism;
Use the exact same things that caused it to slow down in the first place! Food and exercise. First let’s talk about exercise. You need to workout smart. It’s not just about working out hard. It’s about doing the right type of exercise for your body. Mainly you want to focus on strength training and HIIT workouts (I have plenty of those on my channel for you to start doing). Strength training will build muscle and help speed up metabolism. Most people don’t need to workout more than 3-5 times a week and only 30-45 each time.
I talk a lot about how to workout smart and why more isn’t necessarily better in this video so you can learn even more about how to fix a slow metabolism
As far as your diet goes, it’s a good idea to snack three times a day and eat your three meals. Make sure you’re eating enough. Keep in mind whenever you’re feeding your body you’re also feeding your metabolism. However, whenever you’re dieting and under-eating, you’re losing muscle (decreasing metabolism), which can cause weakness and fatigue. Who wants that?!
I hope you found this video helpful and inspiring to start taking action today. The longer you diet the harder it’ll be to fix your metabolism. The sooner you start the better!
Make sure to share it with anyone who needs to learn how to fix a slow metabolism, so you can help other women end their food battles.
How to get your period back is a question I get
I’ve done a couple of videos on how to get your period back already where I share more of practical types of ways to get your period back. However, I also want to share what to mentally do to help get your period back. I have not seen anyone recommend these types of tips, but they are CRUCIAL, if you not only want to get your period back but also keep it. These three tips I’m about to share can of course also be implemented throughout your entire life and not just while you’re trying to get your period back.
How to get your period back tip #1
Let go of perfectionism, controlling and masculine energy.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong at all with having masculine energy in us. In fact, we all need it, but what I’m trying to say is it’s important that we stop demanding results, being so controlling, being perfectionists about our food, work and so on. Step more into your feminine energy and you’ll feel so much more womanly. I know I didn’t feel very womanly when I didn’t have my period. So this tip was super helpful for me. Not easy, but helpful.
How to get your period back tip #2
Whatever you can do to get into your “green zone”/ parasympathetic nervous system that’s also responsible for reproduction, do it! Deep breathing and meditating are some of the best ways to relax and release stress. Spend as much time in your “green zone” as possible and your body will thank you tremendously for it! It won’t have to worry about with all the stress anymore and can now focus on healing and therefor work on getting your period back.
How to get your period back tip #3
You might be thinking what faith has to do with how to get your period back. If you’ve suffered from amenorrhea I bet you’re willing to do anything to get your period back. I can tell you that having faith will serve you more than you can imagine. After you’ve done all the physical “to-do’s” such as eating more, workout less, increase fat and so on, then there’s one last thing. Faith. Know that there’s a power out there that you belong to, that supports you, that has your back. I used to pray and tell God; “I have done, and still keep doing everything on my part, and I know together we can co-create my goal and make my dream come true. Therefore I hand you the rest to take care of, and I trust I will get my period back.” I promise that this faith will take off so much weight off your shoulders, you’ll feel less worried and more at peace.
