Green smoothie? To some people it might sound or look weird but I can ensure you that it’s one of the most delicious things you can eat. Green smoothie breakfast bowls with granola are something I’ve been having every morning for 2 weeks in a row!
I’ve been trying to find a way of adding more greens to my breakfast, without it being too time consuming. If you incorporate more greens into your daily routine, I promise your body will thank you for it. You can never go wrong with adding more greens to any of your meals.
The ingredients for this green smoothie bowl change quite frequently depending on what ingredients I have on hand that day. For my greens I use anything from kale, spinach or mixed greens. My base always consists of bananas and at least one type of berry. Most the time I use frozen mixed berries. That’s what I love the most about this green smoothie bowl. You can make it work for you. You don’t necessarily have to use the exact same ingredients all the time. Change it up to not only change the flavor but also the nutritional value that the different fruits and vegetables have to offer your body.
Another great thing about smoothie bowls is that you can add any topping that you like; nuts, cacao nibs, and coconut flakes are all great options. I choose to top mine off with my homemade crunchy granola to make it more filling and satisfying. This recipe is incredibly easy and quick to make. You can add all the ingredients in your blender the night before, stick it in the fridge, and blend it up in the morning with your favorite type of milk. This way you can make sure you’re going to have a very delicious and super nutritious way to start your day.
In a blender mix together everything except the blueberries, granola and cacao nibs.
Once perfectly smooth, pour into 2 bowls and top off with blueberries, granola and cacao nibs
